Carousel 601 was borne from our own family vacations spent in Ocean City condos for six years, but originates back to college vacations with roommates and earlier to childhood memories vacationing at the downtown motels.  Our desire to purchase a beach property was motivated by a desire to spend time away from our jobs and the stresses of daily life. Hoping to find a condo that we could rent seasonally to help defray costs, we followed the real estate market for three years and scoured the online version of Ocean City Today to find the perfect family vacation spot, one that had amenities for adults and kids, but one large enough to accommodate family and friends, should they tag along for the trip. In Spring 2017, we took a huge risk by purchasing a property that required some TLC, which was completed with a little help from local contractors, but a whole lot of sweat equity.

Eight months later, we began taking direct booking rentals of our condo through family, friends, and social networking, checking our rates against the competition to ensure that our guests received the best deal without the extra booking fees.    We are now going on our third year of sharing our beach property with guests, many returning year after year.  My name is Shannon and I am a high school Hybrid Learning Coordinator.  I taught myself web page design in order to create the Carousel 601  website.
